Does CBD have an active role in psychoactive effects?
Although achieving a legal framework in Mexico for the CBD and CBD is still in somewhat rudimentary stages, there has already been some progress.
It is common to hear, either by lawmakers or advocates of medical marijuana, that while Tetahydrocannabinol (THC) contains ingredients that produce the desired psychological activity in the consumer, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the compound from which medical applications of cannabis are used. The problem is that they cannot be spoken of as completely isolated elements, neither to medicine nor to the common psychological activity of the plant.

"For the ignorant legislator, CBD is the medicinal ingredient and THC is the most aggressive," says political scientist Jorge Tenajero. It is precisely there that the apology for the use of CBD in low concentrations of THC begins. With a "unscientific" approach, THC is seen as harmful and friendly to CBD when, in fact, one always has to bear in mind that the effects are achieved by the interaction between the two.
"The conversation is currently going on about the specific use of CBD at a one percent THC concentration," says Tinajero. Any doctor can prescribe those with less. In fact, it is one of the only ways to obtain a drug made from cannabis. ”Those with more than one percent will need to write a prescription or obtain an electronic prescription by a treating physician who, in addition, must undergo an approval process from the committee Federal Health Risk Protection (COFEPRIS)) so that CBD-based drugs can be imported under control.
However, the conversation between CBD and THC is different from recent news about legal protections that the jurisprudence of marijuana can be used personally. "They should not be confused with them. These means of protection exist in another framework, because they are independent of medical capabilities. Here it is a matter of the state’s limits in facing the individual and the freedom of the elderly to exercise their conscious freedom. What is required with ambaro is to be able to carry out private cultivation without commercial purposes." .
I spoke with Pedro Motta, who specializes in the molecular structure and extracts of hemp, to understand more about this hemp, its differences and similarities, and why, even when talking about CBD, the approach to this topic is still completely skewed for economic and ethical reasons, not scientists.
VICE: What is THC and what is CBD?
Pedro Mota: THC is the most popular type of hemp. She was the first to be discovered, isolated, or identified. For decades it was considered the main cause of the effects of cannabis. It still has a reputation for doing so, but it is already known that there are many other cannabinoids that have other contributions to psychological and holistic / medical effects. I do not differentiate between a medical effect and a medical effect because, for me, the psychological effect is also medical. It is also the most popular because it is the most common. In a hemp sample from here to Japan, it would have the same dominance pattern of THC: 80 or 90 percent THC. This is a file of herbs that are used as psychoactive substances.

CBD was discovered about 40 years ago, but it only gained fame 10 years ago. After popularization, crossbreeding began to take a different approach to reach higher levels of CBD. Nowadays, there are plants that produce a resin that contains a greater portion of THC, rather than having a larger fraction of THC, although it retains the other secondary hemp. When they discovered the CBD they also discovered that there is an overarching role in the ultimate effect of both psychoactive and medicinal effects that depend on the presence of other narcotic substances: especially THC and CBD because they are the most present ingredients; CBD is the second most present at 10 or 5 percent, and maybe less. I say these percentages in terms of total. That is, what I'm talking about is the overall composition of hemp, as if you were just holding on to resin.
Does CBD have an active role in psychoactive effects?
Suppose THC flies in, and CBD is pulling it down. Its psychological activity is more "calm", less noticeable, less surprising, and less provocative than THC. The presence of CBD also causes more THC to pass through the blood-brain barrier and THC binds to a greater number of receptors and stays inside the brain for a longer period. In other words, the presence of CBD makes THC more potent and longer-lasting.
This is the synergistic effect forged from the surrounding elements, which is the coupling of all the elements together making the final effect a result of this interaction and not a result of the whole. It's strengthening:
